The challenges and impacts of the pandemic have reshaped the labour landscape, pushing trade unions to experiment, innovate, and adapt.

To meet these challenges, Asia-Pacific Union CoLab provides a collaborative laboratory where unions connect, exchange insights, and test strategies to support workers across the region.

Union CoLab builds on findings from ACTRAV’s 2021 Training Needs Assessment, which highlighted critical areas for capacity building: problem-solving, advocacy, fiscal literacy, social dialogue, and social security financing.

It also points to three pivotal fields for further experimentation and growth: skills and lifelong learning, digital communication, and research analysis.

Through structured learning pathways, interactive workshops, peer exchanges, and curated resources, the Lab enables union members to:

  • experiment with innovative solutions to tackle workplace challenges,

  • strengthen advocacy and social dialogue, and

  • equip themselves with tools and knowledge to champion workers’ rights.

By fostering collaboration, capacity-building, and collective innovation, Asia-Pacific Union CoLab turns shared ideas into union impact — empowering unions to create lasting change across the region.
