The EMPLOYERS YOUNG PROFESSIONALS’ ACADEMY aims at developing the skills of young professionals in three key areas of action for EOs:

1. Being the voice of business;

2. Promoting economic growth and jobs creation;

3. Engaging as a social partners.

In previous editions, the Academy relied on three workshops on each of these themes, preceded by a distance learning phase to prepare participants with background readings and activities.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to a halt any face-to-face activity for an extended period of time.

The inability to offer blended courses has prompted the need to redesign and revise the Academy, refocusing all the action through the online platform, while setting aside the face-to-face meetings for when travelling and presential meetings will be possible and safe again.

Investing in the online component of the Academy will allow its implementation, but most importantly it will bring value to subsequent editions of the Academy, benefitting future participants.

The EMPLOYERS YOUNG PROFESSIONALS’ ACADEMY comprises different learning activities:

  • Webinars and virtual lessons with key experts;
  • Online simulations and role playing;
  • Virtual gatherings and networking events via virtual reality.

Particularly, on virtual reality, the ITCILO has already organized courses that enable participants to access to immersive learning and simulation experiences.

Immersive simulations blend the virtual and the real world, increasing the pedagogical added value of the technology in learning activities, as shown in a recent studies. The use of virtual reality will be piloted under this edition with a young and dynamic target audience. The ITCILO has all the infrastructure and technology to make the headsets available to the EOs across Europe.
