Welcome to the second week of the course, from 23 June to 27 June.
Being able to analyse your context and the challenge that you face, gather the evidence you need and identify any gaps and pressure points are all fundamental to planning your advocacy work. This week, we will focus on this essential first step in the advocacy planning cycle.
You will learn how to set about analysing your context and understanding the political economy of social protection. This will provide you with fundamental information to frame your problem from a political lens as well as help you analyse the existing legal framework to identify any gaps and bottlenecks.
Reviewing existing evidence and research may also help us find out whether there is any data we don't yet have but might be helpful to make our case.
This week's Discussion Forum and Assignment will both help you focus on the problem you wish to address. You will be asked to articulate and share your challenge in the Discussion Forum, and you will be required to conduct a problem tree analysis for Assignment 2.
