ITCILO teamed up with Cornell University to create a course on disability in the workplace. In this interactive video-based course, employers, experts and persons with disabilities themselves share their latest insights, knowledge and experiences to enable you to identify the competitive advantage of including people with disabilities in your workforce, to create a business case, and to plan, implement and audit your disability inclusion strategy.

en Mobile Engagement with Members - A toolkit for BMOs

Using existing mobile technologies, Business Member Organizations (BMOs) can improve the way they engage with their members.
The toolkit provides tips and examples of methods and tools to engage with members more efficiently. It focuses on technology available for free to take account of the limited resources available to BMOs.

This toolkit was developed on the basis of previous work done by the ITCILO on mobile learning, notably in the context of Value Chain Development. It was adapted to the BMO context by the ITCILO Programme for Employers’ Activities.

This eLearning Module has been developed to provide you with a basic understanding of Social Dialogue - what it is, who is involved, what the benefits are – and give you information on the outcomes reached by the European Social Partners at cross-industry level.

The module has been developed by the ITCILO’s Programme for Employers’ Activities in 2014.

It is based on previous work done by the ITCILO:

  • for the ILO on Social Dialogue and Tripartism; 
  • for the European Social Partners of the Commerce sector Eurocommerce and UNI Europa Commerce in 2013.

It is designed to help executives, directors and managers of Employers Organizations (EOs) to build and run their organizations more successfully.

The module follows a step-by-step approach to improving the effectiveness of service provision by EOs. It provides a wealth of practical advice, tools, good practice examples and exercises to accompany EOs in their capacity-building efforts.

It takes approximately one hour and a half to complete the module and the final test.

This eLearning Module has been developed in 2015 by the Programme for Employers’ Activities of the International Training Centre of the ILO in partnership with: the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA); the Confederation of Employers of France (MEDEF) and the Confederation of Italian Employers (Confindustria) with the active support of BUSINESSEUROPE and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), in the framework of a broader project entitled “Transnational Company Agreements (TCAs): building management knowledge and capacity”,which is co-funded by the European Union.

This introductory eLearning Module is a starting point for companies that want to engage with instruments on CSR and Business & Human Rights or get inspired by these. The course has been designed from the point of view of a company and focuses on considerations that are relevant to businesses.

Ce module d’apprentissage à distance a été développé en 2015 par le Programme des activités pour les employeurs du Centre international de formation de l’OIT, en partenariat avec: la Confédération des associations allemandes d’employeurs (BDA); le Mouvement des entreprises de France (MEDEF) et La Confédération générale des employeurs d’Italie (Confindustria) avec le soutien actif de: BUSINESSEUROPE et de l’Organisation internationale des employeurs (OIE), dans le cadre d’un projet plus vaste intitulé «Accords d’entreprise transnationaux (AET): Renforcer les connaissances et les capacités des dirigeants d’entreprise», lequel est cofinancé par l’Union européenne.

Ce module est un point de départ pour les entreprises qui souhaitent avoir recours à ces instruments ou s’en inspirer.  Le cours a été conçu du point de vue d’une entreprise et se concentre sur les considérations qui sont pertinentes pour les entreprises.

My JMDI e-Toolbox on Migration and Local Development is a flexible and comprehensive e-course for stakeholders working on migration and development at the local level (local and national authorities, civil society, migrants’ associations, academia, international organizations, etc.) on how to better mainstream migration into local governance for enhanced local development and protection of migrants.


The contents of the course are based on the My JMDI Toolbox set of training materials designed under the Joint Migration and Development Initiative (JMDI) as a direct response to the specific needs identified from local stakeholders being supported by the JMDI.


The e-course covers a wide range of practical issues connected with Local Development through 6 modules. The introductory module (Core Module) is compulsory with the remaining 5 optional modules depending on the various interests of the trainees.
