en Introduction to Gender Responsive Budgeting in Public Institutions

The online training programme will introduce participants to the operating principles and most commonly used strategies and tools to integrate a gender dimension in budgetary processes. Starting with the basics of GRB through an analysis of the budgeting cycle, the course will discuss how national and local commitments on gender equality can (and should) be supported through budgetary priority setting in order to achieve de-facto gender equality as well as effective use of budget funds. The training will also cover different examples and case studies to show variety of GRB approaches around the world. The main contents that will be discussed are: - Macroeconomics: why does gender matter? - Gender-responsive budgets: principles and definitions - GRB and the budget cycle framework: key steps and outputs - Tools for GRB: an overview - GRB as a tool for a good governance - Tools for GRB: focus on selected experiences - Stakeholders and partnerships for successful GRB initiatives

en Empowering United Nations Gender Focal Points: agents of organisational change 2019

This training course, which is delivered both online and residentially in Turin, will provide GFPs with an introduction to the UN gender architecture and explore strategies and tools for identifying and addressing gender equality obstacles within organizations. It will examine gender mainstreaming tools (such as gender markers and the UN system-wide policy on gender equality and Women Empowerment - SWAP) and their concrete application to build a community of practice that fosters discussion and sharing of good practices.

en Media strategies for gender equality campaigning

This training proposes a strategic understanding of policy-making as being thoroughly intertwined with - and dependent on - media strategies and communication platforms. The training will consider best practices on communicating issues relating to gender equality and inclusiveness in the context of progressive social campaigns. Participants will review various storytelling formats and techniques and gain tools and competencies to implement best practices on campaigning for gender equality and inclusiveness. By combining online and offline strategies, the training will enhance participants' mastery of media strategies to communicate social change on gender equality and inclusiveness.
