(Massive Open Online Course)

Welcome to the first Massive Open Online Course for Board Members in Business Members Organizations!

This Massive Open Online Course is THE opportunity to improve practice together: click on the APPLY button and register for the course!

The learning experience is chunked into 5 modular clusters which are distributed over a 5-week period between April 24th and May 28th and have the objective to improve effectiveness in your role as BMO board member. 

Each week a new module will be displayed and you will be invited to dive into new content, interact, learn and share your experience.

Time requirements to follow this MOOC are kept to a minimum of up to 3 hours per week in order to make the course compatible with professional commitments. The overall duration of the MOOC is 5 weeks.

These are the minimum hardware and software requirements:

  • Platform: Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, ME, XP or superior; MacOS 9 or MacOS X.
  • Hardware: 64 MB of RAM, 1 GB of free disk space.

Facilitation: Jeanne Schmitt

Jeanne Schmitt is Senior Programme Officer at the ITCILO Employers Activities Programme. She designs and conducts training activities for employers' organizations' staff and company members on various aspects linked to advocacy and lobbying, industrial relations and services provision in Africa, Asia and Europe. She is also managing larger capacity-building projects and co-authored a series of training guides and elearning tools on topics such as lobbying and advocacy, services provision, social dialogue, CSR & Business and Human Rights for the Employers' Activities programme.

Jeanne previously worked with BUSINESSEUROPE, the European employer confederation, as Senior Adviser for Social Affairs in charge of industrial relations and social dialogue matters. Prior to joining BUSINESSEUROPE, she worked in a consultancy company on international projects.

She holds master degrees in Labour Law (DEA, University of Nanterre / France) and European law (LL.M., University of Dresden / Germany). Her working languages are English, French and German.

Administrative support: Irene Panizzolo

Irene Panizzolo is Course Assistant. She’s working since 2011 for the ITCILO. Before working with the ITCILO, she was a wedding planner in Mexico where she lived for 10 years. Ms Panizzolo speaks English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Italian.

Technical support: Alexandra Giordano

Alexandra Giordano has been collaborating with ITCILO since 2014. She graduated in economics from the Moscow Institute of Business and Law and languages from the University of the Russian Academy of Education. Alexandra is fluent in Russian, English and Italian.
